Equal Hoop, Distinctive Cultures

Overseas is a premium editorial publication aiming to document the influence of basketball on different identities and cultures across Europe, and beyond. We travel to celebrate unusual destinations and we connect with people to share new perspectives. Every story we narrate manifests an undisputed curiosity for the Game and the culture that deeply surrounds it.

Each of our focuses starts from the assumption that the Game is not limited to the court. Overseas basketball is a platform to discover societies, people, ideas. It’s a poem to be praised in the most disparate languages, it’s a historical, political and emotional wave to be deeply investigated.

We want to share a basketball that is both specific and universal, cultural and iconic, contemporary and nostalgic. A basketball that finds its most fascinating value in its artistic exoticism. Tell us stories about the way you ball, the hoops you discovered and the cultures you encountered.

What kind of stories is Overseas looking for?

If you have a story, or have shot amazing photos on and off the court that you feel aren’t getting the exposure they deserve, then please get in touch. We want to make sure people are inspired. And you might just have what we need! We are looking for stories that have a fresh perspective on how basketball is played and lived outside of the States. Or just interesting people doing interesting things around the Game. Architecture, design, music, fashion…we set no limits to the different emotions that stories can generate.

How should a story be proposed to Overseas?
